• Coex Amazon recommends the expeditions are carried out between April and December to avoid the rainy season.
• Expedition group sizes vary from 2 people to a maximum group of 10 people to minimize the impact on the environment.

• People who choose a Coex Amazon expedition must be able to relate to our philosophy and appreciate the meaning of responsible tourism. Due to the main parts of the expeditions being off the beaten track and therefore informal in nature, a high degree of personal flexibility is required. This means that, amongst other things, normal tourist services will vary considerably during the trips. In particular hygiene facilities, food, accommodation and comfort levels etc.
• During the expeditions we use all the mediums of transportation: big plane, small plane, train, car, bus, trucks, big riverboats, small riverboats, canoes, horses and own feet.
• We primarily use local infrastructure, but some times there will be necessary to put up our own camp. Coex Amazon provides comfortable tents and mattresses.
• The security has high priority during the expedition. Tour leader is permanently present at all the expeditions besides close follow-up from our local network In remote areas we always dispose private transportation.
• Some treks can be quite physically demanding but generally an average level of fitness and good health should be adequate. The most important asset is a positive attitude and stable temperament, with the ability to take things as they come.
• For the main part in Peru , except Lima , "one week is 8 days and 2 weeks is 15 days". In the areas our expeditions take us the people have a fantastically relaxed attitude to time, space and distance.
• The climate and temperature is tropical in the high and low jungles of the Amazon Delta with the relative humidity high. Daily temperatures vary between 25º - 35ºC (77º - 95ºF). At night the temperatures can often dip towards 15ºC (59ºF). On the mountains the air is relatively thin and dry with temperatures around 15º - 20ºC (59º - 68ºF) in daytime and often down to 10ºC (50ºF) at night.
• In the jungle we must take for granted the presence of mosquitoes but this varies from place to place.
• We can customize trips by shortening or extending them based on the many destinations and living arrangements within our 5 main expeditions.
• Tips: Few are familiar with Peru 's Caribbean coastline to the North of the country with its fantastic white sandy beaches and temperatures at a balmy 25º - 30ºC (77º - 86ºF) all year round. Easily accessible from Lima by plane, this is a perfect place in which to rest, relax and unwind after a long expedition.
