Coex Amazon is a part of the company Escandino Services - a family-owned company established in Peru and managed by a mixed marriage between Laura and Øyvind Wesseltoft (Peru and Norway).
Laura and Øyvind live in Lima , Peru with their two children; Jacob and Sara. We all share the interest for the nature and the human diversity in this country.
Laura (Expedition leader and in charge of the communication) is Peruvian and authorized nurse and obstetrician in Peru and in Europe. Fluent in Spanish and Norwegian. Limited oral English. Good knowledge of the local conditions and the human diversity in Peru. Laura´s biggest asset is her ability to comunicate with anyone. Possesses an impressive network.
Øyvind (Expedition leader and general manager) is Norwegian and with a degree in economics from the U.S. Fluent in Norwegian, Spanish and English. Started to travel to South America in the late 80´s. Since then he has done numerous tours to the Peruvian Amazon Jungle. Possesses an increasingly good knowledge of Peru.

Alberto Cabrera (Expedition leader and Peru expert) is Peruvian, journalist with studies in the field of sociology. Born and raised in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle. He has been downstream and upstream most of the rivers and the tracks in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle as a photographer for one of the biggest Peruvian Television channels and later as freelance journalist for several magazines. Possesses an impressive insight and knowledge about the nature and human diversity in the Amazon jungle. He also possesses an impressive network. Besides he is a very nice and reliable person.
Damaso Guerra og Frank Samaniego, (Coex Amazons principal guides), Damaso is Shipibo ethnic and comes from the tribe community Betijay in the Amazon low jungle by the river Ucayali. He studies administration in Atalaya. Frank is Ashaninka ethnic and comes from the tribe community San Miguel in the Amazon high jungle of Chanchamayo. When he is not working as a guide, he is busy farming on his coffee- and yucafields. Both of the boys have their ethnic languages as their mother tongue, and both are proud of their culture. Spanish is their second language, and they both can communicate to certain degree in English.
